…….Petanque ball set made from the oldest species of meteorite known, the Muonionalusta (4.5 billion years). In reference to the Schrödinger cat experience, quantum physicist, were placed inside two balls respectively a dead cat hair and an alive cat hair. The third ball remains empty, which adds a third probability; the cat might not even exist. On this articulation several level of the evolution are paralleled. The perception of cosmos, of the universe, of the infinitely large, the stone work, craftsmanship, culture, and finally, the infinitely small, reductio ad absurdum, philosophy.
This alloy of meanings extrapolates the absurdity of human power. An inherent paradox in the domination of our species over our environment. Through knowledge human beings are in constant redefinition of themselves, by knowing that they will never have access to a total knowledge. All on the same time human is power-full and power-less. By combining this extraterrestrial material and a popular game i also wonder about the value of things, about the idea of rarity. The bone jack can reminds us that we are all going to die, even if we try to conquer space. This (multi-cosmic) vertigo brings us back to the relativity of our existence, to the little thing that we are, owner of a meteor ball game, this sweet whim.
